Appliance Division

We've expanded our support of the appliance industry by specializing in the design, testing and manufacturing of custom catalysts, vent assemblies and other metal components for large and small appliances for major appliance manufacturers. Vent tube capabilities include flanged, bent, and assembled stampings. The major focus is providing ceramic substrate precious metal catalysts as well as metal foil substrate precious metal catalysts for smoke and odor control to the appliance industry.

Smoke and Odor Elimination

In the 1960s, Catalytic Combustion (CCC) was approached by a supplier to the largest household range manufacturer, asking if it was possible for a catalyst to control the smoke and odors that were coming from the self-cleaning oven.

The answer, of course, was "Yes" and, since then, we have produced millions of pieces for this application. Without a catalyst, the smoke and odors produced during the self-cleaning process would require that windows be opened every time the oven was cleaned.
