RTO Advantages |
Regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) is a VOC emission control system for process applications with low average VOC concentration.
Catalytic Combustion Corporation can provide you with a two tower RTO and VOC DRE of 95%, three tower RTO and VOC DRE of 99%, or with high performance multiple tower, patented valve common shaft EUROCAD design with a VOC DRE of 99.5% and extreme high reliability.
Each RTO system is designed for the conditions of a specific application. Sizes range from 2,000 SCFM to 100,000 SCFM. Please see specifics below.

RTO technology offers operational cost and other performance advantages over recuperative thermal technologies such as direct thermal oxidizer or a catalytic oxidizer.
The RTO’s heat recovery system is designed to recover up to 95% of available thermal energy for reuse in preheating the incoming process airstream. This design reduces the fuel consumption significantly if compared with conventional thermal recuperative oxidizers.
