Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers

Regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) is a VOC emission control system for process applications with low average VOC concentrations.

Catalytic Combustion Corporation can provide you with a two tower regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) and VOC DRE of 95% or a three tower RTO and VOC DRE of 99%.

Each regenerative thermal oxidizer system is designed for the conditions of a specific application. Typical sizes range from 2,000 SCFM to 100,000 SCFM. Please see specifics below.

RTO Applications
Polution control applications of regenerative thermal oxidizers include paint spray booths, paint and coatings manufacturing, amine treater off gas, ethanol plants, and chemical manufacturing processes.

Technical Specifications

RTO technology offers operational cost and other performance advantages over recuperative thermal technologies such as direct thermal oxidizer or a catalytic oxidizer.

The regenerative thermal oxidizer's heat recovery system is designed to recover up to 95% of available thermal energy for reuse in preheating the incoming process airstream. This design reduces the fuel consumption significantly if compared with conventional thermal recuperative oxidizers.
