Interesting Work in Your Field;
- Lead the Safety Taskforce to create a safety culture throughout the company, reduce the risk of workplace injuries & illnesses
- Conduct incident investigations, identify root cause and provide corrective action
- Work closely with Human Resources to manage injury claims and Return to Work program.
- Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks by conducting and documenting Safety Walk Throughs.
- Assist with the development and implementation of comprehensive EH&S programs and initiatives that comply with regulatory requirements and promote employee participation and accountability.
- Works cooperatively with Operations in performing job safety analysis and perform risk assessments on critical job tasks.
- Monitors compliance with safety procedures, ensuring OHSA compliance, including assisting with record keeping. Records and documents all environmental health and safety requirements.
- Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Act as company representative with the local Safety Council, and other related professional organizations.
Your Skills Should Include:
A 2 year Associates degree in Health & Safety, Business Administration or a related degree is preferred.
- Ability to obtain certification as a CSP (Certified Safety Professional).
- Minimum one year of experience in a Quality or Safety role is preferred.
- Must be able to exercise good business judgement.
- Deal effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people and situations.
- Maintain the integrity of confidential employee and business information.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Meet deadlines that change frequently.
- Deal effectively with time pressures, stress and change.
- Follow specific procedures for compliance.
The successful candidate should be self-motivated, well-spoken and able to present a positive personal image.
