We’re looking for a meticulous and skilled Painter/Sand Blaster to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing, priming, and painting surfaces to meet our high standards. You’ll handle tasks from surface preparation—such as grinding, blasting and wiping down parts with cleaning solvent to mixing paint and primer per specifications. You’ll also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining painting equipment, respirators, and PPE to ensure safety and precision. This position requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of surface preparation, and a commitment to maintaining safety and cleanliness. Interesting Work in Your Field
Painting:
- Prepares surfaces for paint including wipe down of parts with cleaning solvent. May involve grinding fabricator parts to prepare them.
- Mix primer and paint according to specifications.
- Clean and maintain painting equipment, respirators and PPE.
- Mixing paint and primer according to specifications.
Sand Blasting:
- Prepares surfaces by removing mill scale build up on metal products
- Set up and operate blast booth and blasting equipment.
- Blast metal products to a predetermined profile
Your Skills Should Include
- Three years’ experience and thorough knowledge in the preparation of and use of paints, epoxies and other coating applications associated with industrial use
- Must be able to function and complete work assignments wearing respirator, coveralls, air supplied helmet, full-body Tyvex suit and blasting PPE
- Knowledge of metal fabrication methods, mechanical aptitude
- Moderate physical lifting
- Forklift, crane and lift operation
- Following verbal and written instruction and completing routine and repetitive tasks
- Reading blueprints and interpreting drawings
